Matariki Arrowtown Kā-Muriwai returns on Friday 28 June 2024 from 3:30-8:30pm.
With a refreshed name and committee it will be a true whānau event, with the theme of "Bringing Whānau Together" weaved through performances and experiences.
This year's event extends further along Buckingham Street with Māori educational experiences in Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall and Lakes District Museum and two stages for entertainment. Buckingham Green will once again feature Kapa haka performances by tamariki from the local preschool and schools with a punchier schedule and earlier start time to suit families. Library Green will showcase solo performers and poetry and a lot more kai offerings throughout.
Established as a community event with the Arrowtown Preschool over a decade ago, at its heart, it is an event by the community for the community. We're excited to share the meaningful changes that have been made this year that will surprise and delight those that visit but especially those that came in previous years.
